Bahamas 2012!
After a glorious week in the sunshine, frolicking amidst palm trees, Shere Khan (sadly, minus Murphy, Catherine and Tom) has returned a more tightly knit, tanner group. Thanks to Elbow Cay Properties and Kristin Powers, we stayed at Calypso for five nights, a beautiful house right on the water located in Hopetown. We spent the rest of our trip in condos in Marsh Harbor, also located right next to the water!
We spent our days tanning, rehearsing, playing games, shooting a movie and climbing palms to collect coconuts as well as performing around the islands. We sang twice for the lovely people of Hopetown at the St. James Methodist Church, we had the pleasure of singing for (and with) the kids at Every Child Counts, and we sang at Forest Heights Academy. We even had an impromptu performance for the people of Hopetown as we sailed back to the island after a day of sailing with Muffin, Will and Lucy!
Other memorable memories include jello trivia, Johnny’s birthday and late night swimming!
We also got to temporarily welcome Aly Boyce into Shere Khan to sing Landslide with us at the performance at Forest Heights. (Aly is the daughter of the amazing Cha Boyce, who helped us make the trip to the Bahamas possible!)
Our last night on the island, we danced our hearts out at Snappas and rocked out to “Ghost Move” with the awesome Bahamian house band.
We wish we could stay forever, but since we can’t… until 2014, Bahamas!
